AIBU?

To ask at what age you think men become invisible to women

And do you think it's because they get fat? Lose their hair? Start wearing frumpy clothes? Get wrinkly and jowly?

Do they feel insecure about this invisibility? Or heave a sigh of relief that Julie in Accounts is no longer making eyes at them?

I'm guessing this is sarcasm?

I've always been fairly invisible 🙂

I was about 35 when men became invisible to me.

Well I'm 56 and my Manly Good Looks are still such a burden to me! There's No Escape from the Female Gaze!

Raises back of hand to forehead and sighs in a dramatic way

TAAT, but a very good one which highlights the point of the ridiculousness of the subject.

It's that age when they start making less effort with their appearance - it's different for each boy but usually around 40. Let the grey hairs show through, stop trimming facial hair, middle aged dad-bod, and saggy tits & balls.

And what gets me is all the meninist whining about how they get objectified but as soon as you stop flirting with the baggy old ones they whinge about that too. You can't win!

I'm 20 and very much attracted to someone of 56. I fancy the pants off of him, in fact.

So it must vary. I'm not particularly 'drawn' to older men either. It depends on the person, their appearance and how they draw you in.

They are invisible to me if they are overweight or bald. Or both.

FlibbertyGiblets · 18/03/2019 19:51

Because you never know when you're going to be shoulder barged or shouted at to CHEER UP LOVE. You know what I'm saying.

I'm 102 and they are still lapping me up.

I don't know why people moan about this, it's such fun.

Or too short.

I've never liked the meninist types that wear ill fitting suits to cover their bodies. Come on, lads. Show us your assets. No one wants to talk to a lad that looks like he borrowed a suit from John Major.

Those ones have always been invisible.

I like a lad that knows what his best features are.

Wrong. Serious question.

The real question is at what salary do men become visible to women

Report
SurgeHopper · 18/03/2019 20:00

Totally depends on the guy.

There are 25 year old hotties and 55 year old hotties, depends on the person

Report
EnlightenmentwasaPassingPhase · 18/03/2019 20:00

It's not a TAAT.

Is there an age when they become invisible or do we lust after them forever?

I know I'm doing nothing to help the double standards by having a 'boy'friend 42 years older than me Grin

But maybe even it out by fancying older women too? Grin

SurgeHopper · 18/03/2019 20:01

I honestly think if you've got it when you're 25 you'll have it forever

Report
SurgeHopper · 18/03/2019 20:02

42 years older, Rix? Tell us more!

I think it’s more likely women become invisible to men when they hit a certain age.

55?

For me, it's when they become like old women.
Whining, complaining, gossiping. I find that puts me off.
