I have started watching Turn Up Charlie. I think he would be great as Bond. Bit of a departure what with the East End accent and looking (struggling to say what I mean accurately here) . A bit rough around the edges looking rather than polished if you see what I mean. And yes. He is a non minger crush of mine😀! Or a woman. Suggestions?

I’d be fine with Idris Elba. At least he’s manly. The news said they were considering Cillian Murphy - sorry but he’s like a wet dishcloth with watery eyes.

Anyone but Daniel Craig....

But yeah- Idris would certainly do.

Can’t stand Idris Elba.

I’d love it to be Michael Fassbender

The word I was struggling for with Idris Elba was rugged if you see what I mean.Henry Cavill? Willing to be argued with here, but I just can’t bond ( cough cough) with a female Bond. Don’t know why

Love Iris, but don’t know if he is Bond - don’t know if he has enough of an edge for me. But I said that about Daniel Craig, and I love him as Bond.

Tom Hardy would be my Bond, although his edge may tip it into Kray territory.

Not sure how I feel about bodyguard/Robb Stark guy (sorry, can’t remember his name) cause I know he’s been floated as an option.

Idris would be an amazing Bond, just oozes manliness and sexiness

I'm with the PP above, I just can't get on with the idea of a female Bond.

Awww, Fayelly, nooooooo! I do agree Daniel Craig needs to go and I believe he thinks he should go to. A bit long in the tooth now and tha role has become a bit bog standard day at the office for him I think.

Henry Cavill is gross, he looks like an entitled twat! (He’s probably nice, but does have a creepy history of dating 19 yr olds)

Idris is sadly too old but would’ve been amazing in place of Daniel Craig. DC is so disparaging of the franchise I don’t know how he hasn’t been fired!

Used to fancy this guy, he was briefly on Dr Who and also plays jazz and we have a beach photo! www.instagram.com/theblackpaddy/

Based on current filming schedules, Idris Elba would be 50 by the time he started to make his first film. It would therefore end up being his only Bond film.

They've never yet cast Bond as per the books. Bond was not what you would regard as conventionally attractive because he would stand out too much.

Eon will be looking for someone in their mid- to late-30s (as Daniel Craig was) so they can get at least three films out of their choice. That would probably rule out Fassbender who would be 45-46 at the time he'd likely start shooting the next Bond. Richard Madden from Bodyguard would be about the ideal age when the next Bond is required.

Idris would be my choice.

But Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, Henry Cavill, Michael Fassbender and the like are all well established, successful, very well known actors.
I think they are more likely to choose someone who is is not as well known and has only had secondary roles in things, as the have in the past.

Idris Elba would have been perfect when people initially started talking about him doing it. But I don’t know if he could be a bit too old now... I hate to seem ageist, but I don’t know if the action man role is right when he’s pushing 50. Which he would be by the time they make the next one.

How old is JB meant to be? I think they were talking about Daniel Craig’s replacement at the 2012 Olympics, but he’s still going strong! Poor Idris. It’s a bit like the queen and Prince Charles!

I think Daniel Craig was in his thirties when he started as Bond.

If Idris got it, I don’t know if he could do as many films as DC.

Skinny can be worked on, age not so much

Yes they never cast star stars, usually someone who has had secondary roles don’t they? Plus they need to be young enough for at least a couple of films

I don't like idris Elba, too sweaty

Richard maddden would be good although is he short? Sean Connery was the perfect bond tbh, dark, Scottish, cool

Aiden Turner for me. Or maybe Tom Hiddleston, he played that sort of character well in The Night Manager.
