AIBU?

To spend £1000

I want a luxury spa and Michelin star restaurant for me and my DP. Live in the Midlands, so open to a lot of areas.

Looked at The Priory in Bath and The Grovesnor in Chester so far. I want utter decadence, but not sure whether these places will offer that. Upto £1000 for two nights.

Am I asking too much for the cost?

secretescapes.co.uk often have some good deals

TBH £1000 for two nights sounds like a waste of money to me.
I stayed at a 5 star city-centre hotel last night (from secretescapes!) for £74 a night, should have been £180. It included a great breakfast and use of their spa, gym sauna etc and there were optional extras.

But it all depends on what you can afford.
I'd rather have lots of small, luxury trips over a few months then 2 great stonking expensive nights which, lets face it, are not going to be five times better than £100 a night but will be 5 times more expensive.

I used to stay at the Bath Priory - food's nice but the rest isn't anythkng you wouldn't get at one of the upmarket chains.

Well, it's your money and you may spend it as you see fit.

Decadence just makes me think of that nightclub scene in the Inbetweeners Movie..😂

Which ever way you cut it- thinking that spending £500 per night to sleep in a random bed is worthy of starting a thread on here is cringeworthy, twattish and attention seeking.

Of course you're not, it's your money, spend it how you'd bloody like!

No personal experience of either but I know my boss was pretty underwhelmed with the Priory last year and a friend loves the grovesner

'Hacker'
How observant... But didn't see your response on the over post. Wasn't genuine responders..not spiteful people. Hmm made me consider Bath now

Just want a great time, but can't afford real 'money' money. Will be going to New York again in Feb so just want a uk stay.

You can't quite afford it (!), but the best hotel in London (hotel 41) is really amazing. No restaurant though but there's obviously plenty of great restaurants in London

Actually, we loved 41 too, although it's central London. The neighbours are pretty upmarket! Grin

I cannot recommend anywhere in the UK, but could recommend several destinations in Europe, if you are interested. I work away a lot and prefer to stay in 5* with pool, spa etc. if I can.

"Just want a great time, but can't afford real 'money' money."

A lot of the people here don't spend that much on rent in a month (my mortgage is £800 a month!), so quite frankly £1,000 for a weekend is a bit 'look at me'

You dont need to spend a lot of money for a bed to sleep in
