whole back history with neighbour goes on for about 2 years, threatened to stab me before but she had too much to lose now shes had her kids removed and been lifted many many times...short version alcoholic, not been staying in house for past 6 weeks, abandoned cats, i called sspca as they were starving.

SO she came back and threatened me through a car window (she was in back seat of car which her ex kept driving) and also threatened me indirectly to a friend. I called housing association and they said was aware had meeting next week dont worry she wont come near me. I called police and they said send community officer tomorrow.

7pm she is steaming, I have front door open i hear her call, where are you where are you you fucking fat cunt, trying to get me to come out for a fight. I lock door and call 999. Police lift her.

I stay in lovely rural area I have nice 3 bed , dining room downstairs loo, front and back garden. I called housing association this morning in near tears but coudn't get my own housing officer or the boss, so got another housing officer. She says she doesnt know back story, what does she want me to do? i say evict her !! she says we cant just evict people like that, i say go get her file and you'll see! She says i don't have access to other housing officers files. I said your not taking this threat seriously she has nothing to lose she has already lost kids and spends half her life in jail anyway. Housing officer says If I am really that terrified then I should present as homeless WTF!!! Ive never been late with rent or had any complaints against me

How do you know your Housing Officer wasn't in court? Or taking annual leave? Or ill? And no, you can't just evict someone, the case has to be water tight otherwise there'd be one hell of a law suit against your Housing Association and they'd never be able to get rid of her. Try asking for your ASB unit next time.

She can't just evict someone on your say so. Keep going to the police, keep a diary of everything that happens, thats all you can do for now if you don't want to move. YWBVU to make a complaint against a woman who was only doing her job.

It must be a horrible situation to be in but the housing association can't just evict someone.

It could be that they are building a case against your neighbour but unfortunately these things take time.

Keep letting them every time you have a problem, the more information they have the better.

I completely sympathise - your neighbour is awful, and no - you should not have to live with that!
BUT - she was doing her job. They don't evict people because you phone them up and tell them to - even if the file on them is like a roll of andrex.
Yabu. Sorry. I really do feel for you though.

She didn't say you have to leave.

She said if you were really terrified and needed to get away that much you could say you were homeless to get elsewhere.

I know she cannot evict someone like that but she can investigate, get police report start ball rolling roll ball further, what I am saying is that she was telling me to give up my 3 bed because I was the victim of a crime that may well happen again same or worse???

YABU.

What were you expecting her to say? Why she did say really isn't worthy of having a complaint made against her, and I'd have thought that if you I'd complain you would les out because youd end up with a reputation as a complainer.

If i present as homeless I lose my job and home and uproot kids from school, Im a CM for someone that they are going to possibly evict next week anyway?

You should not have to go. It's your home. But be careful when this women comes back.

GhostShip · 30/08/2012 21:58

Look you have taken what she said the wrong way.

She gave you the only option she could to get you out of any immediate danger.

You cannot blame her for that. She doesn't want you to give up your bloody 3 bedroom house. She wanted to help to get you out of the situation in which you yourself said you were 'terrified'.

GhostShip · 30/08/2012 21:58

lechatte no one has said she HAS to go.

The police have already taken her away, and if she carries on she will be evicted anyway. Just make sure you log everythi ng and report it to the police.

You are in a good position if you rent. Homeowners old have to live with it or find a whole lot of money to be able to move.

either the ho is lazy or it is a really shit system with each ho being a single point of failure for their own cases

def ask to make an appt with your own ho to see where they are in the investigation - and they can eventually evict her so see if that is where they are aiming and what you can do to help - eg statements and diaries

ok maybe you are right, i am so upset with whats been going on that maybe i did misinterpret her as "well you move then cos we aint moving the skank* thats how it came across at the time.

Thank you for your advice all.
