Salted caramel cheesecake
Poached pears in mulled wine

Jamie Oliver chocolate bomb www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/fruit-recipes/winter-pudding-bombe/

Even looks like a Christmas pudding! You can make it with kids in advance. We just use normal shop bought sponge cake rather than panettone, and chuck in maltesers and frozen fruit rather than all the fancy ingredients.

We do little shots glasses of a variety of desserts, usually fruit juice jelly, lemon posset and then one or two others (banoffee pie etc) If you are full they are great and if you aren't then you can have a few.

I didn't make them all in the same year Mum2OneTeen... although I'm sure DH would like it if I did!

Pineapple Romanoff and Mont Blanc are favourites here.

We're having Yule log for Christmas and chocolate cherry trifle or passion fruit roulade for New Year Smile

I only do a Christmas Pudding if we have a full house and even then it's served 2-3 hours after the meal . Leftovers get hoovered up in the following days. Last year I took the pudding up to DParents in the New Year.

DH doesn't eat chocolate so I might buy a couple of small Christmas puddings if he wants that

Steamed syrup pudding is delish , measure everything , put in the mixer bowl, get the steamer set up and prepare the pudding basin -syrup , cut out the greaseproof and foil , then it needs 2 minutes to mix and put on while eating dinner

Apple crumbles - I cook and freeze the apple and make a crumble mix to freeze in a seperate bag , I use half porridge oats / half flour
Nice done in ramekins

Creme brulee ( Lakeland do one in a carton ) make in advance and add the sugar and grill as needed

We have trifle on Christmas Eve
Boxing Day ( homemade pizza ) is ice-cream and chocolate brownies with hot chocolate sauce Xmas Grin (I make the brownies a couple of days ahead)

I fancy one of those lemon sauce puddings but its not special enough for Christmas Day , maybe NY ?

I'm buying this;

We're having Christams on 23rd and MIL doesn't do alcohol, so Christmas pudding in out.

I make ice creams - clementine sorbet, orange and dark chocolate, cinnamon, mulled wine, that kind of thing. Served 70s style in a brandy snap basket. I love ice cream and usually can’t face a massive heavy pud after Christmas dinner.

Delia’s posh chocolate log usually gets a run out over Christmas too.

Mary Berry's chocolate and berry roulade turned into a chocolate log
spiced toffee log (doing that for the first time this year so can't say how well it goes down yet...)
traditional sherry trifle and kids' chocolate trifle

Just made a chocolate and Baileys mousse as a trial run for an Xmas dessert. It's in the fridge but having licked the bowl I think it's going to be gorgeous!!
