Anyone returning to yoga this autumn or trying a new practice?

Now the season is turning, is anyone else refocusing on yoga, or changing your practice? Or new to it and wanting a chat?
I’m definitely a little overwhelmed with life at present: kids, my age, multiple jobs, single parent with a never-ending ironing basket, the weather (dreadful here this year), and I know yoga WILL help, it helps with everything lol. It’s just finding the energy, which is so silly as it helps my energy. So…turning over a new leaf.

Did a lovely Power and Ease 30 min practice this morning, by a yoga teacher I’m new to but enjoying - Felicity Wood. She’s calm, clear and she has lots of choice. She also does a live every week day morning at 7am (one way video, just her end so you can be in your pyjamas lol).

I need to do yoga & also really struggle to fit it in despite it helping me!

Yes - I’ve started going to a real life class for the first time in a while.

I live in a city, and there must be fifty yoga classes within a ten minute circumference of my house - but I’ve chosen the one that’s a 45 minute walk away in a more rural setting. So far the classes have been glorious - windows open, birds singing, small number of participants, and a teacher who has the measure of the class so it all feels relaxed and unstressed.

In the past I’ve only practised at home - which meant concentrating on the things I enjoyed and ignoring the rest. So this is better. I’m certain I noticed a slight improvement in my posture after just the first hour.

The walk is uphill going, and downhill on the way home, and passes an upmarket pub and a Waitrose. It has already improved my week immensely.

Hi@bottleofpop maybe doing it at a completely different time would help? I used to always do evenings or weekend daytime but I’m really enjoying my early mornings actually. Feel a lot brighter going in to my day.

@MsAlignment wow that sounds glorious, all of it! I live so rurally that there aren’t any live classes locally, just reading about your experience made me smile.

Today’s 30min practice had a balance focus, including some lovely work one-footed on a block that really worked the legs and mind but in a gentle, nuanced way. Also breathwork at the end to a metronome which was interesting. I’m going to do a yin practice this evening as well I think.

Your at home 30 minutes sounds considerably more intense and considered than my hour flailing about in a village hall.

Ahh but yours sounds really peaceful…I’m doing a yin one later as every child’s pose we dropped in to earlier I was really not wanting to leave 🤣.

A lovely practice this morning, standing on a block regularly is really helping my balance awareness and I’m seeing it elsewhere in life - so much steadier getting socks on etc.

30min practice with lots of twists. Nice to loosen up with in the morning. That's a week of 7am practices completed - they were all really nice, and a great way to start the day physically and mindset-wise. I do think I need to maybe timetable in some evening breathwork or meditation, maybe some hip appreciation, too.
