So I did another Sarah Beth today which was excellent. I’m hoping to continue my impressive 3 day streak.

No yoga for me last week as away with family. But back to it this week, I did miss it.
@Yogachick Charlie Follows popped up on my feed this morning and I remembered you'd mentioned her. Decided to have a go at Day 1 of her 30 day challenge which started this month. Only after I'd started and she mentioned progressing to crow did I realise it might be a bit tougher than I'm used to. Also overlooked it was 30 not 30 minutes. But I did (most!) of it. Discovered it hurts if I put any weight on my head so the very impressive headstand she did was more of a brief upturn with feet firmly still on the floor for me. I took the over of child's pose for those who can't do headstands.
I love a tough challenge so will do some more from this series but not daily.

Yogachick · 04/06/2024 22:07

I’m ashamed to say I’ve been off my mat doing other fitness stuff,@Jumbojem ,deluded it will get me in shape quicker. My body reacts by ramping up the always loitering inflammation so I’m now on the cusp of a flare. Getting in shape has to take a back seat to being well& functional. I’ve gone off Charlie Follows a bit,am Sarah Bething from tomorrow, providing I’m not confined to bed 🤞

Buttalapasta · 05/06/2024 08:35

I am finding this current Charlie Follows too challenging. In fact, I'm finding yoga challenging in general - quite painful atm. Not sure if that is inflammation or what but it's frustrating.

Yogachick · 05/06/2024 17:12

I feel you @Buttalapasta , I did a 10 minute Sarah Beth this morning & found it incredibly tough.

Did Day 1 of Adriene’s June calendar today and it was balm to my soul😁

I've been keeping up the yoga every morning somehow, about 20 mins (Adrienne). My arse is significantly perkier and I don't have aches and pains at nighttime anymore. However I now feel as though I have plateaued somewhat. I'm finding it easy to get the mat, but the sudden increase in benefits has levelled off. I get a bit frustrated if the practice is too easy. I will keep going. Maybe I need longer sessions.

Yogachick · 07/06/2024 10:46

Maybe try someone different @Notts276 ? Charlie Follows has 20 min Practices which will be a step up from Adriene. Or Sarah Beth / Kassandra both on Youtube
. I did Floating Yoga School 22 min switch your brain off this morning, highly recommend this one. I would say a step up from Adriene. Adriene is wonderful but my practice also stagnates if she is the only person I practice with, she can get very samey

Morning! Not posted in a while but still been plugging on with the yoga.
I did a few Charlie Follows but they seem much more difficult than YWA so I have to be in the right mood to be pushed! Mainly been doing Kassandra and have been enjoying them. I did a YWA core one this am though, that was hard work, I really need to work my core more.

Notts276 · 17/06/2024 22:40

I had a go with Charlie Follows and I also found it really difficult. A lot of the poses I just can't do. I've gone back to Adriene for now!
Been doing yoga at least every two days if not every day. I've booked to join a group class on Wednesday evening.

Rummikub · 17/06/2024 22:46

I did the ten minute one Adrienne sent in the weekly email.

Im going to miss not having that push every january!

Jumbojem · 19/06/2024 19:57

I will miss the January push too, I'm hoping one of the other online yoga platforms will do one. Or I'll have to repeat an old YWA?
Back to Kassandra for me today, I find her 20 minute morning ones perfect for the time and level at the moment, a little challenging but not too much. I really need to get organised and embrace summer longer practices though, been last with the short ones for far too long.

Yogachick · 21/06/2024 10:02

Back from holiday, stiff as a board . Back to it with .
Yet again I have to say I don’t know why I stop, uncranked ,unclogged and stretched. I also did a Daily Calm meditation from YouTube, something else I’ve lapsed on

It's been so hot this week that I haven't felt like doing any yoga. But today is apparently International Yoga Day ....namaste!

Yogachick · 21/06/2024 22:42

Namaste @Buttalapasta 🙏🏻
it’s why I love a calendar to follow @Jumbojem - otherwise I inevitably choose shorter practices. Following a calendar if there’s a long one on there I just make the time, unless it’s 45 mins+ bit too much for me
i miss the idea of the January push @Rummikub , it’s a great shame Adriene isn’t doing them anymore, I felt her style evolved each year and I got huge benefit even though I never completed one🙄feeling lots of us doing the same practices at the same time was wonderful 🤩

Hello, fellow yogis, I just found this thread! I aim for 3 x a week, with weight training the other 3, then Sundays off. I don't always stick to a schedule (life happens), but really enjoy the benefits of a regular routine. My body is more supple and stronger for it.

I have joined "Do Yoga With Me', a Victoria, BC based on line studio. They're not on youtube, but have their own website. Google them! Lots of free classes at all different levels, and you can choose your style. You can join for a monthly fee for more options. The monthly price is about the same as one class at a private studio, so i find it reasonable. I find now I am level 1 intermediate, so enjoy a bit of a challenge. Crow pose is still unreachable for me.. I have a nano-second of lift-off!

Yogachick · 22/06/2024 09:34

Welcome@mdinbc ! Sounds like an excellent schedule/guideline. I used to use Do Yoga With Me,thanks for the reminder!Found it again on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@doyogawithme

Not much battery left on the iPad and wants to make the most of the sunshine by taking my yoga outside. This was a great lesson in transitions

Managed to get on the mat today for the first time in ages. Did day 1 of YWA's true series. Slow but definitely what I needed.

Yogachick · 25/06/2024 19:31

Love True @PatienceOfEngels ,it was THE one for me when I felt like a real yogi.
Strength work for me yesterday, today Adriene Brain & Body Balance,22 mins, just because it popped up this evening on my YouTube homepage. I found it quite a strong one but I’m so so chilled after,a reminder of how Adriene’s yoga makes me feel.My DD transitions were very different after the Transitions lesson the other day, definitely got a better DD,something I’ve been aspiring to.
Hope everyone’s not too sweaty in this glorious weather x

I did True one summer and felt so chill! Aiming for that feeling again. Managed day 2 yesterday and day 3 today.

Yogachick · 27/06/2024 08:52

22 mins with Adriene today,Flexible Mind & Body. It’s a sweaty one! In the garden making the most of this glorious weather.

Still managing semi regular yoga. Did YWA yoga for calves this am but didn't love it as there was quite a bit of plank which I wasn't really expecting!
Been doing a fair bit of Kassandra. Tried Charlie Follows but was too hard for me at the moment.
I should try different Yogis but I need to research them outside of yoga time, otherwise I'll spend all the time choosing rather than doing...

Yogachick · 28/06/2024 09:26

Well done for yogaing @Jumbojem . Curious re Yoga for Calves and planks, not where I would have thought either!
Another Adriene for me in the garden again,20 min morning yoga. Strong practice, with mucho planks, the ab thing where you do 3 legged dd to right elbow, then left elbow etc. side plank and wild thing added to the intensity for me. Added to my list as I feel repeating it will benefit. I’ve created a new thread for July, pristine in it’s hopes for all of us trying for consistency.
Hope this is how to share it

Good Kassandra one this am,20 min yoga for lower body and balance I think it was called. Lots of three legged balancing, warrior 3, lifting arm/leg when in first table top then down dog. My balance is iffy, esp left side so it felt like a good brain and body wake up!

Jumbojem · 28/06/2024 12:54

Just read back, three legged balancing 😂 not sure what I think my third leg is! I meant three as in one arm or leg was raised and the other three balancing.
