So I did another Sarah Beth today which was excellent. I’m hoping to continue my impressive 3 day streak.

I'm going to join (late!), because I'm a mess at the moment. Gained weight, have whiplash from a car accident, in pain, feeling sluggish and awful. So I'm going to try and do some yoga or some wall pilates or something gentle every day and hopefully that will help me to feel a bit better.

formerlyofthisparish · 13/05/2024 08:28

I probably need this

Yogachick · 13/05/2024 13:27

@ladybirdsanchez I definitely get benefit even from a 5 minute practice , I have learned over the years consistency is key to maximise benefit. I’ve never been consistent for more than a couple of weeks though, hence accountability thread😁

Thanks @Yogachick I managed a run yesterday, plus some stretching, and I felt so much better at bedtime and slept really well, so today I'm going to find a nice online yoga or wall pilates workout to do later.

Hello! I’m so impressed you are still all here and in a new thread. I’ve been very mixed with a lot of life shit happening but today and yesterday for the first time since February and my shoulder injury I have done 10 minute yoga sessions. Just the 2 latest ones on YWA YouTube ( hip opener and all over body stretch) I’ve had to modify as I can do DD but it felt so good!!!!

Yogachick · 15/05/2024 15:18

Hello again @Sooverthemill ! Glad to have you back in any capacity,it’s so hard at times.
I’m mid fatigue flare,an absolute belter. I’ve done a Sarah Beth 5 min stretch again, just to keep on my streak,it does help in a small way. I just want to get rid of this drugged up chronic fatigue feeling. I suspect it’s my own fault as I foolishly did a 20 min kettlebell workout on Monday as I felt so well. This has been rolling in since. Bastard chronic fatigue & Bastard Fibro. I’m jealous of people who are just well as their normal

@Yogachick and @Sooverthemill sorry to hear you are both struggling.
I've fallen into just doing a short 10-15 min morning Kassandra ones. I need to plan better and branch out a bit.

Yogachick · 17/05/2024 13:18

I’m counting my morning meditation yesterday and today. I’ve been well enough for something a bit more so have cracked out old Davina DVD. Hmm does the cooldown also count…..🤔

Still doing 10 minutes a day and modifying when I need to do my shoulder doesn’t take body weight. @Yogachick sorry you are struggling

Sooverthemill · 18/05/2024 09:07

A repeat if the latest YWA stretch video. Really good plus 10
minute puppy walk for todays exercise!

Sooverthemill · 20/05/2024 07:58

Yesterday I did a short YWA and today a lovely gentle stretch with Kassandra. That an a short 20 minute walk each day are beginning to make me feel human again. My strength is improving! Maybe I will be fit by Xmas!

Jumbojem · 20/05/2024 16:30

@Sooverthemill Kassandra has a "no hands" practice which might be useful, I have done it but not recently so can't remember exactly what it entailed though, just remember being a bit tired of downdog/planks so hence why I chose it.
I have had heel pain for a while and realised it may be planar fasciitis so I spent some time doing foot and calf stretches this am which are going to be my focus until I can get the pain to subside.

Sooverthemill · 23/05/2024 22:47

Thanks @Jumbojem i can do some careful stuff like table top and a short downward dog but actually it's some of the upright stuff like warrior two that are painful. There are just certain movements I cannot make! It is slowly improving thank goodness. Today was a very old kassandra session

Yogachick · 24/05/2024 11:17

I’ve been rubbish. Turns out I get bored after a couple of weeks. I did a 30 min Pilates yesterday though,so can sort of count that

if anyone’s looking for hands free practice I’ve done some of these in the past and found them well rounded practices

Hello everyone. I fell off the thread but I have been doing yoga (almost) every day. Still finding it hard and a bit painful but making very, very small improvements. I have also started doing weight training three times a week which I think is helping slightly with my wobbly planks! Have a nice weekend!

Yogachick · 27/05/2024 14:47

I believe in the benefits of yoga but not Michael Mosley who hasn’t practiced medicine for 25 yrs

Rummikub · 27/05/2024 14:51

It just reminded me about the benefits of yoga.

Has he not practised for 25 years?!

Wow! That’s a lifetime ago.

ConflictedCheetah · 28/05/2024 07:19

Hi all.

Just joining this thread to join in!

I've actually had a (weekday) daily practice fairly solidly since Jan 2020 but always great to get new ideas as I get bored of teachers. Have done a lot of Adrienne, Kassandra and WellwithHels over the years.

Last week I finally finished this January's 30 days with Adrienne from January as I got unwell and then an injury so had to stop. Looking for some videos to keep going (I do about 20 mins every morning).

Buttalapasta · 28/05/2024 07:36

Hello @ConflictedCheetah ! I can recommend Charlie Follows - lots of 20 minute practises with enough variety to keep me interested. Lovely natural backdrops too.

Rummikub · 28/05/2024 08:38

I might start flow again in June. I do like flow.

im also trying planking. And I hear Adriennes voice 😂
