We didn’t play a strong attacking game. Watch Ghana’s games before this you will guess they’ll defend a lot. Therefore we attack strongly. We didn’t. Or not enough. Hard cheese. God knows our players are paid enough whichever teams they play for and Tuchel too.

England and Ghana are through to the next rounds baring a disaster.

We are still in with a chance! If we are going to have a shocker of a game then best it be in the group stages. I still have hope 😀

There’s little point attacking strongly if they’re defending strongly, they should be brought down the pitch a bit and then a breakthrough created (and a quick one). They were never going to barrel their way through those defences.

I see your point. I just don’t think we were polished enough to finish well. In my eyes anyway. And Ghana took full advantage of that.

Anyone who finishes in the top two can to go through can win the world cup except hopefully the USA

Levels of expectation are rather different. Scotland are delighted to have qualified for the World Cup for the first time in 28 years, and rightly so. England are ranked the fourth best team in the world & have serious aspirations to win it.

But you understand that perfectly well, don’t you?
