Hi

I've been off work for about 3 years looking after DSs but now I want to return to work - and we need the money! It's been so long since I wrote my cv I can remember how to do it. Does anyone know any good websites or have any advice?

Thanks
viv xx

I would do:
Personal info at the top, name, dob, address etc
Then jobs going backwards chronologically starting with your most recnet.
Then education ditto.
Then extra stuff: computer skills, languages, driving licence, interests
No more than 2 pages in all (some people say it should be 1 page).
Hope that helps - good luck!

Hi Vivie,

Very scary to start doing this, I would also recommend you add a personal profile to the start of your CV which is like a 30 second commercial that sums up what your key skills and attributes are. Also, I would suggest you don't include your DOB, it's not relevant for most jobs. Also try to list key achievements in each of your job roles.

best of luck

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate your help. It would help if I could find an old version of my cv somewhere...

2 pages max, don't put DoB, or status these 'should' be irrelevant! Spell check it - or bet still let someone else spell check it. Keep it simple, but clear...

Thanks Blackduck. That site seems really good.
