I'm applying for a job which has an application form with pre=set sections in it as well as having to attach the CV.

I've read the job description and the specific needs required for the job. I know I need to cover these requirements in the form.

There are requirements like good communication, good team working, interprofessional experience, child protection knowledge.

Do I just put something like;

"in my current job as a X I am used to working as a team member with different agencies. I have good oral and written communication skills. I have experience of child protection in my current job.

Or do I need to be more specific and say what child protection stuff I've done. Though to be honest its fairly obvious from my current job. Plus the new job is with my current employer but a different dept. I'm never sure of how much stuff to include at this sstage and how much to leave for an interview?

Thanks.

definitely definitely give examples of how and when you have demonstrated the skills being asked for. also put them in bullet points with the headings clear - this will help the selection panel easily find the evidence they need to evaluate the application - this helps alot when they have loads to shortlist from and will put your application in a favourable light

e.g.

communication - in my current role I have established good working relationships with a variety of people including Board Members, Councillors, members of the public and difficult to engage service users. My excellent written skills were demonstrated through the writing of a training manual on eating chocolate which was used by over 100 people in the office

Nothing is obvious from the job you already do - make your skills and experience explicit and succint

good luck

My problem is that I don't have enough experience to GET a job as a Level 2 Teaching Assistant as I've only just finished my course. I have had a limited amount of work experience but they are asking for people who can keep records, transfer data to ILPs etc and I haven't even been taught that as i only was in 1 day a week

I'll still have to keep applying until I find something though but I am becoming increasingly fed up as I haven't the money to buy new clothes for holidays etc.
