NVQ 3 interview for teaching assistant - help!

I have an interview this week to get on the NVQ3 course as a teaching assistant. I have no idea what to expect. All I have been told is that I have to sit an exam and then there will be in interview.
Has anyone been through this? Please help.

The exam bit will be literacy/numeracy I think. To check your level. Either to show if you need support or to assure them you are competent.

For my level 4 I had to do a literacy: numeracy test to show if I needed extra help. TA course should require GCSE equivilant so it may be to show that.

Thanks nymphadora, I appreciate that. I am making a career change and with two degees behind me (in engineering) I hope I can pass this exam then!

the nvq three 'exam' i did was just a basic skills one. very very easy.
