Offered New Job, Just Discover Im Pregnant. Anyone Know Where I Stand??

2 weeks ago i was offered the job of my dreams, yesterday i found out im 7 weeks pregnant. This has came as a complete shock as last year i was told id probably never concieve naturally. Do I need to tell my new employer and if i do can they sack me? Or can i wait til my probation period is up then inform them that iv just found out? I dont want to lose my job but obviously bump comes first> any help would be appreciated. x

No you don't have to tell them, not until you are 25 weeks pregnant, although most people obviously tell much earlier.

No they can't sack you for being pregnant.

You won't be entitled to statutory maternity pay but might be entitled to Maternity Allowance.

Flowerybeanbag is right- they absolutely cannot sack you because you are pregnant. If they do it will be a straight forward case of sex discrimination.
