Does anyone here work as a virtual PA?

I want to do some kind of work from home and I worked as a PA before having the DCs, so doing the same kind of thing from home makes sense - but I don't know where to start looking! Some of the websites I've seen look a bit like scams.

So, can anyone point me in the right direction please? And has anyone got any other ideas - proof-reading etc maybe?

Any help much appreciated!

No but I may be looking for one in the next few months so am watching this thread with interest!

Still no-one??

Flowery, do you mind me asking why you might need one? Am assuming it tends to be individuals/small companies rather than larger organisations that use Virtual PAs

I'm not - but one of my best friends is. She does a bit of everything - audio typing, transcripts (she has a contract with the Crown Prosecution Service), credit control (very popular in current climate), some event management.

I can link to her website if you want - just don't want anyone to think I'm advertising ?? Or if you CAT me, I can send a link

Because I'm self-employed owning my own business, my time is limited and precious and all the admin stuff I have to do is taking up way too much of it, keeping from spending as much time as I'd like doing or looking for client work.

Thanks Tilly, do you know how your friend finds the work? Is it through an agency?

I'm not sure how she got things like the CPS work but most of the other stuff is just via PR and word of mouth. She worked as a PA in the same profession for years and knew lots of people who had set up small businesses on their own and started off with them.

She does lots of networking and direct marketing (mailshots, advertising in business journals etc.) She also has her web address as secretary services so if you google it, she's one of the first on the list
