I'm investigating whether to start a home baking business and have no idea how much I should mark up my products by to make it a/worth my while (time and effort, increase in use of electricity etc) and b/profitable. Any advice?

Thanks!

Have a look at this section of the Business Link website.

That should help you come up with a list of costs - fixed and variable.

Think about how much you'd like to earning per hour and include the time it will take you to not just bake the goods but also to do you marketing, admin, delivery etc.

Also don't forget tax and National Insurance - although if you start small you won't be paying any as you'll be under the threshold.
