Indemnity insurance?

Hi all

Know this has been asked before but not for my specific case I don't think...

I work part time as a freelance journalist/editor and earn about £600 a month.

Can anyone recommend a cheap (!) indemnity insurer for my piddly little business?

I would recommend going through a broker such as Simply Business so that you can get a range of quotes.

You may find that you have a professional organisation which has links with a specific insurer tailored to your type of work.

Can I be really dim and ask what professional indemnity insurance covers you for?

FlexibleAccountant · 02/06/2010 14:58

Bramshott it is insurance usually taken out by people who provide advice to their customers.

It is a condition of many professional bodies that practicing members have PI insurance (eg accountants).

Some info from Business Link if you'are interested.

I'd second Simply Business - was by far the best, most flexible option I found.

Ah, I see, so as a freelance arts administrator, it's unlikely that I'd need it?

Thanks Flexible and fluffy, will check it out!
