i work 5 hours, 4 days a week. Within that there is a scheduled 30 min break. Noone else takes it, or makes note of it, so i have been doing the sames. This means im working for 2 hours extra a week.

Have spoken to boss about the lunch break situation, she said it was mine to take and didnt want to take it away from me. if i wanted to make note of it, then i could do.
Im happy not to as they are quite flexiable and it works both ways.

However, ive had two days off recently. One because DD was ill. One because my car broke down and was towed.

I know i could have just taken these off, unpaid. But i said i wouild make them up

Ive made up 6 hour already, and have 4 more to do. Its difficult for me to make up hours really though.

Is it wrong of me to start making a note of my worked through lunchtime just for 2 weeks to make up the rest of the 4 hours?

I think you have to allow for a lunch break if you work more than a certain number of hours , so if you choose not to you can't technically reclaim it as toil.

but i havent been.

so, presumbly i could.

Um. Ask your boss?? She knows you've taken two days off, just ask her if you can take those as paid in lieu of lunchbreaks. She either says yes or no.

I would be advising her to sort this situation out either way though - if there are some staff working through but not claiming it back, and others who are claiming it back, that's a recipe for disaster and resentment. She should be making sure you take your breaks really.

yes, its a small office ( of 4) for a very small business.

The others have been there ages. Its flexiable, sometimes people get in later, or have longer lunches or go early. but its not really noted beacuse of the not nothing the time accured.

which is fine, if thats what they want to do. But then when it comes to situations like this, its a bit difficult.
