Any London Recruitment types around?

Have posted this on Chat but not had much luck, so thought I'd try here.

I could really do with some CV/Cover letter advice.

I've posted about this before, applied for over 70 positions now over the space of 4 weeks. I have one week left in my current role before I move down South to Hertfordshire, and so far have not heard a single thing back from any agency, job website or even direct companies. I'm applying for anything reception/office admin/admin assistant/PA etc. because that's what I've done for the last 5 years, for a well known water company. So I have the experience, I don't think my CV is that bad, but I'm obviously doing something wrong!

Would anyone be willing to have a look, and give me some advice? I'm aware that applying in London is completely different to what it would be anywhere else, and I don't know if I'm being too naive, or telling too much?

Or, in short - HELP!!!!!!! Please?

Have you not had any replies or acknowledgements at all?! Thats very odd. Can I just ask whether you're making all the contact by email? If you're using a hotmail account (for example) then it may just be that all the emails you've sent out have just been diverted to people's 'junk mail' folders. I've lost loads of applications that way... Quick way to check is to wait 2 working days from sending the email and then call the company just saying 'I hope you got my email' (and maybe 'I'm in the area next week, could I pop in and chat with you?) They may just say no anyway, but at least then you've got an answer!

Anyway, I'm not a recruitment type, but I am an employer, so I hope that helps! And hopefully the bump will get someone with some more ideas to join in.
