Covering letter that covers person specification

Hello,
I want to apply for this wonderful job at the university. They require CV and covering letter covering person specification poits.
I don't understand how to write it? How big it should be? As when I cover person specification for a personal statement its over two A4 pages but I guess I cant make covering letter that big. Or do I just cover person specification points in one line without giving out any examples? What is do employer expect to see ?
Please Help!

yes, i'd make it as big as it needs to be - they asked you to cover the PS in the letter, am i right?
in that case 2 pages is fine. Be succint but if there are a number of points & you have to cover all of them, it's going to be a certain length

just checking, did they sa it needs to be in letter specifically?
because i'd prefer rto cover them in cv and highlight the main ones in the letter

StealthPolarBear · 20/05/2010 09:35

and yes, then the cv would be 2 sides of A4, and letter would be about 2 or 3 main paragraphs (plus intro & summing up bit)

good luck btw

js1000 · 20/05/2010 09:37

yeh, they need a copy of cv and a covering letter specifically explaining the points.
