I'm feeling a little skivey :(

Hello

I have caught the sickness bug that my daughter had last week. I only work two days a week and, thinking that I'd be laid low for several days, I cancelled all my appointments and told work I would not be in tomorrow or wed.

I was poorly this afternoon but apart from being tired and not very hungry, I feel fine and am sure that I'll feel okay tomorrow.

So now I feel really skivey in taking two days off for a bug that's not really that bad. Our work policy is not to return for 48 hours, but I will be missing two important meetings (in schools, but not in contact with children).

As you can probably tell, I'm really square and don't take time off sick very often. Hence feeling stressed about it!

WWYD?

Not worry about it frankly. You don't know you are over it yet - and you may well still be contagious. Take it easy. You'll need your strength because your colleagues will all go down with it your first day back!

Don't go in - the point of the 48 hour rule is that, though you may feel better you will still be infectious. You will not be doing anyone any good by going in and giving the bug to the whole school.
