I've been offered a job which is great. So far I have written my acceptance letter, signed the contract and disclosures etc. However, when I handed in my notice into my old job, they have been so nice to me, asked me to stay and said they don't want to accept my resignation! I'm now having second thoughts mainly because my present job is very family friendly, I have a great boss and team - however the work is rather dull. My present job are promising to review the work and change this aspect. I am now having cold feet about the new job. As I have signed the contract do I HAVE to go now? Can I change my mind or is it too late? (Both companies are very large corporations)

You will technically be in breach of contract but I would imagine the chances of them actually bringing any kind of case against you are minimal.

You may well be ruling out the company as a potential employer in the future though.

Thanks flowery - will I be ruling out any other companies in the industry too?

Probably not, doubtful they share information to that extent I would imagine.
