Hi

Quick update on my old thread on my email account being hacked into by line manager and the way it was handled. It was a transgession on her part and in meeting this was alluded to and it was a geniune mistake and nothing sinister. Just been handed notes for my signature and no reference at all to the discussion that took place re this. Do I rock boat and ask for it to be included or just put up and shut up?

If it is not included then what's the point of signing, surely all the meeting especially areas pertaining to you should be there for you to sign?

No. You should insist those parts are put in. If they are missed out they are not on the record and if it came to it in a Tribunal then those missing sections may well turn out to be important. Documents matter. A lawyer representing the employer in court would just say "If it was so important why did you agree to miss it out?" That would dramatically weaken any claim you had.

Do you have your own handwritten notes of the meetings and what as said? If so, do keep them safe. If you dont have any notes then write down now that you can rememeber nd date it.

Then send a letter with a copy of the document you have been asked to sign pointing out the missing parts. Keep a copy of that too.

Whatever happens make sure the misisng parts are put on record - either by you or them.

CAVEAT: I did not read the original thread.

Thanks for replies. I know why the issue isn't included as makes her look bad but it depends if I want to put up with fall out. I haven't signed just wondering what to do and may contact union again but they just left it all up to me.
