NVQ early years and education will this enable me to work with children?

or would i need to complete another course. Just saw that my local childrens centre are running this course and am waiting to hear about what its involves and cost etc.

oh obviously realise it will enable me to work with children but is it a recognised qualification by itself or just a stepping stone.
