second time 'at risk' in 12 months - advice please

hello, looking for any advice really.

Our dept was restructured 12 months ago whilst I was on mat leave, just after I'd put in a flex working request for part time hours at my old job. I was put at risk, applied for one of the new jobs created, said up front I needed it to be part time, and got the job (they employed someone else part time so we made up one full time employee).

Told yesterday the dept being restructured again! More people put at risk (most the same ones that were at risk last time). All the new jobs created are full time. How do I tackle asking for part time? - ie maybe on a job share? Should I be upfront about that's what I want? Or should I apply, hope I get offered it, and then raise it?

I need to try and get one of the new jobs, even if its to buy me time to come up with an exit strategy! After being told yesterday that there may be more restructures to come (as things "continue to evolve") i'm not sure i want to stay there!

Any reason you can't apply for one of the jobs with your job share colleague to make up a full time employee as you do now?

that would be the ideal, but I don't think she would be interested in applying for the same post that i am - although we job share at the moment, we do quite different functions as part of the same job - in the restructure those functions are split into separate jobs. If that makes any sense! Sorry bit garbled.

I will obv discuss with her but I am pretty sure its not an option. They could however recruit someone else for me to job share with, but they're not going to want to do that because of extra costs hassle etc.

Yes they probably won't be interested in recruiting other people to job share with you. Your other option is to demonstrate how one of the jobs could be done part time.
