If you ask your HR department for your Job Specification, do they legally have to provide you with a copy?

thanks in advance

No. Can your line manager not give it to you? Do you know that one exists?

Its for my OH, he works for a big company but they are rubbish. His site was closing it 2008, so he moved to another & was subsequently promoted. We are moving & he needs to do a CV, so I was hoping they had to provide a job spec. He works in a warehouse & has never had to do a job application let alone CV in his life.

Getting detail out of OH, is as hard as getting it from his company

Thanks anyway.

Technically he can see any information about him, so if there happens to be one on his file, he could request it under the Data Protection Act. But even if there's one there, it could take a while to get, and there's no guarantee it's up to date and accurate, particularly if he's moved sites and then been promoted. Best bet to get accurate information about your OH's responsibilities is from him I'm afraid.
