Need help with cv personal statement & profile

I'm trying to find contract project management work and need to put together a cv. I'm not used to this as the majority of my previous job applications have been application form based. I have come up with the following but think it's a bit bleurgh and doesn't read very well, especially the first para.

"An experienced public sector professional seeking a contract position to enable further career development utilising her accumulated knowledge whilst being challenged through new ideas and ways of working.

Profile
A proven track record of project management and delivery within the public sector. A pro-active people and strategic manager able to rise to the challenge of tight deadlines. Clear and logical with a practical approach to problem solving and a drive to see things through to completion. Experienced working within high profile roles, possessing strong management, leadership and negotiation skills. Demonstrates clear and sensitive communication strategies towards diverse audiences. Ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with a wide variety of people. Comfortable working independently as well as within the context of a team. Extensive working knowledge of project management methodologies including PRINCE2 and PCM."

Any suggestions or even better...a job?!

My 2p.
Its not a bit bleurgh- if you can't say nice things about yourself who else is going to? The CV will be going to strangers anyway.
I think the profile is too long and mentions points that might be better developed in the body of the CV (eg.methodologies).

Also, don't forget to tailor the CV to the job that you are applying for (especially in the profile}. Coupled with the CV, use the covering letter to describe why you are the ideal candidate for the job.
The purpose of the CV is to get an interview, it is the interview that gets you the job.
Good luck with your jobsearch.

Thanks for the comments Redbin. I've probably got more info than I need in the profile as the cv is being sent to agencies rather than in response to specific jobs.
