Would you rather be at work or home with the kids. I think if I was at home all day, it would do my head in - need adult company

Half & half would be nice

Well I have tried both and working full time was too much and being at home with the kids was mentally hard work. Now I trying the third way, part time 15 hours a week - so far done three days. Hopefully the right balance

Home until ds is at school - then work part time (ideally 10 - 2!) that is my ideal

I work 3 days a week. I always think that if we could afford it, I would give up work and be a SAHM, but I don't whether I could cope with the reality of it! I suppose if I were at home I'd have to come up with lots of new strategies for entertaining ds - but I'd certainly give it a good shot!

No 2 is due next March so I'll get another 7 month spell at home before ds starts nursery so I think I'll really enjoy that!

I do 15 hours a week over 3 days, and I have to say it is the perfect combination. Dd goes to nursery 2 of those days which she loves and dh has her on the 3rd day which they both love. I have to say I am incredibly lucky! I love my job and I enjoy the time I spend with dd too.

Tinker · 27/07/2005 00:01

Bit of both. Work term-time so actually get teh worst of both worlds

soapbox · 27/07/2005 00:05

Work 4/7
Home 3/7.

Tis okay but used to be the other way round and that was better!
