Adult Literacy/Numeracy - Training for this?

Can anybody advise me?

I obtained a City and Guilds qualification in 2000 when I was a volunteer in an adult literacy class. I am interested in updating my qualification, and working as a mentor/teaching assistant.

Nowadays, to be a tutor to adults learning literacy/numeracy, do you need a PGCE?

Probably. You can, however, count your City and Guilds towards part of your PGCE or CERT Ed (if you don't have a degree).
