Can anyone explain salary scales

I'm thinking about going for a job at my daughter's school. It states "Scale 4/5 (APT&C scale pts 18 to 25 equivalent to £15675 rising to £19656 pro rata)". It's "37 hours per week, term time only plus 10 days mimimum (the number of working weeks is negotiable".

So would I be right in thinking that 15675 would be for 52 weeks a year so it will have to be reduced to 41 weeks to take account of school holidays? But then what about holiday entitlement?

I've only worked for private companies before so I don't understand how it all works. Can anyone enlighten me?

whatever scale point you'd be on would be reduced to term time plus the holiday entitlement. If they tell you that you get 4 weeks then you'll get paid for the 39 week school year plus the holiday entitlement. they spread the salary over the year though so it'll be whatever it is divided by 12 months
