Im looking at a job that is 10 hours per week - term time only - fixed contract till Jul 2010.

The rate of pay is a band - the middle of which is £4000.00

What would be the hourly rate?

Is the £4000 for term time or is that for full time? Is the £4000 for 10 hours or is there some pro rata that needs to be calculated? How many weeks is term time only, 39?

This is what it says

10.00 hours per week, term time only
£3,864-£4,307 per annum

Can't really tell from that then. If that figure is literally for 10 hours a week for 39 weeks a year, then you'd divide it by 39 then by 10, so £4000 divided by 39 would be the weekly rate, £102.56. Then you'd divide that by 10, to get an hourly rate of £10.26.

But that's all assuming the £4,000 is for that number of hours and for that number of weeks, which isn't clear from what you've been given.

Does that sound about right for the job?

Im thinking its in the range of £7.45 - £8.50 per hour ?

Ive just done 10 hours times £7.45 x 52 weeks = £3874.00

and 10 x £8.50 x 52 = £4420.00

Which i guess sounds about right for the job - Im not sure - its a school/family mentor based in a school - not really got any direct experience but thought it might be worth applying for
