Any book / internet site suggestions for going s/e?

I will be self-employed for a couple of days from May(as well as a couple of days employed by a company). I am a bit scared and don't really have much idea of what I need to do as a s/e person. Does anyone have any good suggestions of books to read or sites to visit which will give me an idea of what I need to do / think about? Any tips appreciated!

The best thing I did when I became self employed was book an appointment with the local office of the inland Revenue. They were really helpful - telling me what records I needed to keep & what they'd be looking for when I came to file my first tax return. And it was free!

That's a great idea. I didn't even know I could do that - will look into it today. Thanks
