Made Redundant just before going back to work?

Hi

Has anyone been made redundant just before they returned back to work and so were actually on annual not maternity leave anymore? But still within 52 weeks after Mat Leave started.

Going through this now so I'm trying to work out if I've got any legislation in my favour...

Thanks!

Check through your job contract to see what policy they have on giving notice and redundancy, and check with CAB in the first instance, or a solicitor friend who knows their employment law, if you have one

A woman on maternity leave does have some additional rights when it comes to redundancy, however if you are on annual leave you are not on maternity leave and are 'back at work' even if you're not in the office. How long it is since you started your maternity leave isn't relevant.

In terms of legislation if you feel your redundancy is fully or at least partly because of your maternity leave, that may well be sex discrimination.

Thanks for good advice.
