So have been off work since may and have mow applied for a couple of jobs, sent my cv off yesterday and they have just called me back. They are going to call and to a telephone interview at 1pm. Said it'll last about 10mins. I've done some recruitment but never this bit what are they likely to ask? How prepared do I need to be? And why am I crapping it when it's a much lower job in the same environment as I worked in before?

Sounds very short so not long enough to get into a proper grilling. Perhaps it will be 'when can you start?'

I would just have a copy of my CV in front of me and highlight some of the areas you may want to draw attention to during the call. Make sure you re-read your CV beforehand so you can refer to it readily.

With only 10 mins though, they may be just calling to arrange a proper interview perhaps?

A recruitment agency just rg me last week and did this type of thing (but without any warning!!) Asked me about my flexibility in terms of hours/days, what experience I had working with the client group and (the job is working with children) what I understood about the Every Child Matters Agenda. I thought this was a bit unfair as I didn't even know they would be ringing so had no preparation time at all. However, they then passed the answers and info on to the employer and they have now contacted me to arrange a proper face to face interview.

I agree about getting you on the hop the only reason he's calling back is as i said it wasn't a good time but only cause he asked Was so caught out i even said it was due to 1yr but seeing as its a PT job and the hours are based around school times i'm guessing that it mums their aiming at anyway [finger crossed]
