Flexible working/ indirect sex discrimination

I am an in-house commercial lawyer, currently on mat leave and currently appealing my employer's initial rejection of a partial homeworking request. I offered to work a core amount of hours each day from the office and the rest at home and to complete a trial period.

I suspect the appeal will fail for cultural reasons and wondered if anyone had any experience of the grievance/isd route.

All advice appreciated- am waaay out of my comfort zone with this employment law business!

Have a read of this factsheet, a useful section on indirect sex discrimination claims.
