I work in a specialist scientific industry. In our department there are about 20 of us who have been around years and really know our stuff but work part-time or have chosen, for whatever reason, not to apply for promotion. We now have managers have been brought in from outside and they just don't have a clue and the result is that we have an awful working environment where we have to sit by and watch managers making a mess of things. Along with my colleagues I freely offer help but this seems to be resented rather than welcomed. Its so hopeless and I feel helpless to do anything and some days I end up just going home and crying with sheer frustration. Any suggestions on how to cope?
Resigning is not an option unfortunately as similar jobs are like hen's teeth.
