Support with childcare whilst on PGCE?

Hoping to get some advice for a friend...

She wants to start a full time PGCE, but is worried that she won't be able to afford childcare for her DD who is 18mo. She is married with a mortgage, and her husband is self employed and earns around £30,000 before tax.

Is anyone in a similar position?

Would she have any help with childcare costs?

TIA

i worked in one that had rooms for babies and toddlers too. if she work before she might be intitled to tax rebate to use for childcare.
