OK so am applying for a job and its been a very long time since i've had to look for a job in fact i've never really had too look they've always just landed in my lap .

Anywho, after the usual, personal details etc it then says;

Please tell us about your relevant experience, skills, knowledge and competencies which you feel make you the best person for the job, always referring to the Person Specification.

Where the heck do i start, i feel like i don't know how to organise it for the best. What chance do i ahve of convincing them i can do the job when i can't even face a blank piece of paper (or rather screen)

Hey,

I have a fair bit of experience applying for roles so here is what i would do.

As part of the job description they should have given you a person specification that details what type of person they are looking for, whether they be organised, works well under pressure etc etc..

what i would do is on a different sheet write down how you fit this profile, and include examples of when you have shown this. so for example works well under pressure or to deadlines say that you handle pressure well, and this was shown when you......

when you have done this for most/all of the spec string it all together and perhaps throw in some other qualities that they dont mention that you feel are important, for example working well in a team, or being a people person, adaptable. they want to know that you fit the spec but they also want to see that you are different from everybody else. this is your chance to shine and get that interview!

good luck
