Hi

My brother's girlfriend is just giving Avon up as she didn't make any money!!! As I understand it (and please someone correct me if I'm wrong!) you have to sell £70 worth every 3 weeks i.e. from every catalogue (which you have to buy individually) before you earn any commission. I'm not sure how long she had been doing it for, but she said the other night she had about 7 regular clients.

There are lots of similar direct selling opportunities, such as Usborne, Phoenix, Jamie at Home, Body Shop so do look into more before taking the plunge!

I do Usborne and have great fun! I do earn money, yes, and lots of free books for my ds - Little Book of Train Stories from the Farmyard Tales (with the little yellow duck?!) is the current favourite.

I'm sure that loads of the other companies are the same, but I arrange my work around my ds, and go to lots of toddler groups, so he gets to play, and I earn money without having to fork out for childcare! And of course all schools need books...

Anyway, if you'd like info, email me on [email protected].

May be wrong - that's what I understood from what my bro's gf said!

Anyone know for sure...?!

WheresMyWaistGone · 24/02/2010 08:54

Sorry - had to rush off to lo as he woke up.

I'm sure she said you have to sell £70 worth each 'campaign' which is from each catalogue, every 3 weeks, before the commission kicks in. Whether you then get commission on that £70 worth or just on anything over, I really don't know. I'm sure there must be Avon Reps out there who can help...???!!!

Sorry to have only half the story!

I do it just for friends and family. I make a small amount (which I usually just spend on products) but I do it more for fun - it wouldn't be enough to pay bills. They don't set a minimum sell but in order to earn any commission you have to place £78 worth of orders per campaign (as WMWG says each campaign is 3 weeks long). To earn the higher rate of commission you have to place £148 of orders per campaign. You have to buy your brochures (I just paid £4.22 for a pack of 10) and paper delivery bags (if you want them).

I believe some people do earn decent money out of it. They must work so hard at it though - I'm too lazy

Hi Togoornot - I would highly recommend Phoenix trading greeting cards - a fantastic product which everyone needs lots of, all the time, and a great company too. Have a look here and let me know if you want more info!
