Hi,

Just to cut a long story short I am signed off from work since around end of November,

  • first was for depression after mil passed away and dh had to go to be with his family abroad for a few months, so I was on my own.
  • second was just after new year, I went back to work but had swine flu so I had to be signed off and then had side effects reaction to tamiflu was quite bad and I have been unable to work since.

since I ran out of sick pay begining of Jan. I am now on SSP (it is the first time in my life and I had no idea how much it pays tbh)

I got a call today to tell me that they have overpaid me by 2 weeks in Jan. and that I need to pay back something like 500£, and that my SSP entitlemnt in feb. is 360£. so basically not enough to cover the repayment.

I am completely broke and I don't know what to do. My contract with this company is coming to an end begining of April. What should I do?

Also, they have "invited" me to a disciplinary hearing because of my sickness on 25th of Jan. I went along but when they saw my state (barely able to walk) they said that they will ajourned the meeting to a later date (even though I wanted it to happen). it was again postpone when I was signed off again begining of Feb.

Now I am making myself so sick about going back and worried about how am I going to cope financially next month.

So my questions are...What should I do about the repayment? and also what should I do about going back to work this job is making me sick (because of stressed)?

thanks for any advices and reading.

work out a payment plan to pay back as was their fault in the first place and they cant take all your money as you can survive on nothing .

Thanks for the reply,

I told her that I am not able to repay all the money at once,

so she offered to repay in 2 times...but still 360-250 that leaves me with 110£ to live for a month...and we don't have any savings...

really hard and tricky situation
