Last night I left work early to go to hospital as I had severe cramps and bleeding... thank god everything was okay but I was told to rest so have taken today off of work...

My employer is AWFUL about time off, and haul you up to HR for the third degree etc...

I've read on here that time off due to pregnancy cannot count against normal time off or something like that?? Or that you cannot be penalized for it??

Does anyone know the actual information, or even better, have a link to an official page I could print off and show to me employer?

All the stressing out about this is not very condusive the rest :p

thanks in advance for any help x

Print this off for them, there is loads of useful stuff on Direct Gov website.

here

Page 1, bottom of right hand column.

Now don't stress about work and put your feet up!

They can't penalise you for it, no. So for example if you would ordinarily be disciplined for a certain level of absence, pg-related absence can't be counted for that.
