Help. Trying to alter VAT code on Sage and getting arror message

When I go into Configure to change my VAT code, I keep getting an error messgase which says "you cannot enter Configuration because MANAGER is logged in on this machine".

I've had this before and rung Sage at the time. They told me to go into the program files and delete something, but I don't know what it is, and they are shut now!!

If there are any Sage experts out there, I would be very grateful for your help. Three tax returns to complete by end of month!!

can you log in as MANAGER? Often doesn't have a password.

cktwo · 09/02/2010 20:21

I'm already logged in as MANAGER. There is no other user.

umm, can't help then. Is the 17.5% rate still set up? If so you could manually adjust when you post a transaction.
Sorry not more help.

cktwo · 09/02/2010 20:34

No, still got VAT rate at 15% so I would have to manually orvertype each VAT amount. Don't want to do that, as I'll forget to adjust
Thanks for trying to help

Try this -
User Name is Already in Use / Cannot Access YYY because XXX is logged in / Program hangs at Splash Screen

Typically, when you get this message you will be asked if you want to remove the user from the request list. If you are asked this question, simply answer Yes and you'll be able to continue.

An alternative solution is to go in the data folder for your sage data (the default folder for versions prior to 14 is c:\program files\sage\accounts\accdata for v14, the folder is c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\sage\accounts\2008\company.000\accdata on XP and c:\programdata\sage\accounts\2008\company.000\accdata. In the data folder, you will find a file called QUEUE.DTA - delete the file and you should be able to get back into Line 50. If you have a multi user version of Line 50, you should only delete this file if you are sure that no-one else is using Line 50.

If you do not know which folder your data is stored in, go to Help -> About -> System Information -> Directories
