Pregnancy and Employment

Bit boring but thought someone might be able to help me...

I work at an FE College, have done for 5 years. I've spent that long building up an amazing programme which everyone is starting to recognise and give me credit for. I've been on a crappy pay scale since I've been there and it's starting to look like in Sept that I might get upped lots of pay scales or be in the running for super duper new job.

Only prob is that I want another baby. Soon!

Does anyone know the laws governing taking on a new role if preggers and not telling them? OR getting pregs very quickly after taking on new job? It may be different to normal as I would have continuing employment for 5 years but in a different role.

Any advice appreciated as I obviously don't want to have to go to HR about this!
Ta.

It makes no difference at all. You can take on whatever job you like while pregnant and don't have to tell anyone.

You have to tell your employer that you are pregnant by 15 weeks before your due date but you don't have to say anything before that if you don't want to.

If the new job would be with a new employer you will not be entitled to Statutory Maternity Pay if you start the job already pregnant. If it's with the same employer you have absolutely nothing to worry about.
