Mortgage Interest Payments?

Possibly being made redundant and have been looking into benefits. I currently have a mortgage and am a lone parent. I've heard of the above but can't find much on it. Anyone know anything about it?

There are a number of schemes which might be helpful, including one where the local authority buy your proeprty and then rent it back to you as a secure tenancy, which is amazingly good if you are eligible. Full details are here

They used to make you wait 9 months before paying the interest on a mortgage up to £100,000. However I think this has changed to pay out more quickly and up to £200,000.
