How easy is it (if at all) to go back to full time employment in a job that you've been doing part time?

I've been p/t since returning from m/l in September. Due to go off in m/l again in June.

DH may be made redundant. Does anybody know how likely (if at all) it would be that I'd be able to go back to working f/t?

I'm thinknig not that likely as we have a recruitment freeze on most jobs atm because we need to lose 15% of our staff over 3 years.

Also, I get 6 months full pay on m/l and am wondering if they have something in place to stop people going back to f/t work just so they can get f/t maternity pay (which isn't actually my motivation, but it will look like that!)

Would be grateful for advice if anyone knows.

It's completely up to your employer. If there is a recruitment freeze on it sounds unlikely tbh, unless there is a real need for more hours in your job. As you've only been doing part time for a short period of time that may be the case I don't know.

In terms of your 6 months maternity pay, you will need to read the maternity policy your employer have to see what terms and conditions they put on it. They may have something about having to be on the relevant salary for x amount of time, or something. Most don't ime. They are more likely to just turn down your request altogether I think, and they don't need anything in place to do that.
