Desperate to get out of the house!

I need to try to get out of the house some evenings, but I can't justify spending money. I'd love to be being tangibly productive again (rather than just ending the day with four alive and well children!).

But what work can I do a few evenings a week apart from working in a supermarket?

I have seen people post before about courier work (ie delivering parcels).

I would imagine you do this to suit you and actually, if I were having a parcel delivered, I'd like to get it in the pm.

Or there's bar work.

Or waitressing.

Or party plan type things - become an agent for Virgin Vie or such?

Or is there anything that you are expert at that you could teach as an evening class??

FlamingoBingo · 17/01/2010 22:12

Not really - well, an expert at having tantrums

DH doesn't get in until 7pm so that really limits my options.

I think it's an impossible problem

You could certainly be an agent for a shoppingy thing - most of those sort of things I have been to haven't started till 8pm?

FlamingoBingo · 17/01/2010 22:21

Do you mean like Avon? (I like your turn of phrase though - an "agent for a shoppingy thing" )

Well I have never been to Avon party.

But have been to and spent money at:

Virgin Vie, Body Shop, Phoenix, Usborne (when DC younger) and jewellery parties.

Clary · 17/01/2010 22:28

VVie and B Shop were best.

Not sure if this is a good idea, but how about offering babysitting services?

tispity · 21/01/2010 20:34

recruitment agencies usually have evening positions - if you've got the gob for it!

tispity · 21/01/2010 20:35

other ideas: graveyard shift DTP and wordprocessing/data entry roles if you are based in a big town or city. lapdancing??

Hello Bingo

I might have the answer - Clary mentioned Usborne and I'm expanding my team.

There is sooooo much work about for days and evenings - work when you want, where you want, and in the day you can even organise stuff that you can take the dc's to!

It's great fun, easy to sell the books as everyone loves them, and you get lots of free books for the dc's too!

Let me know if you want to know more.

Hi , Im not an Avon rep but I too needed some extra cash and looked into various business opps including Avon whilst on Mat leave - I joined a network marketing Company/A British PLC and am now back at work four days a week - So glad I didnt join Avon as I dont have huge amounts of free time and need to do things at my own pace. Let me know if you are interested in any more info!

FM Perfumes. I earned £81 for 1.5 hours 'work'. If you can call reading from a presentation sheet and allowing people to sample your perfumes actually be defined as 'work'. Orders are efficient as are the speedy delivery (you receive orders within days max). and the money is great. Want to know more, then contact me. Sam
