I just need to moan.

My husband is being laid off AGAIN on Friday, that's the 4th time in 10 months.

I know we have got our health and people are worse off but I'm not sure how much more I can take.

Its soul destroying. He is a hard worker but the engineering trade has taken a huge hit.

I Have 3 beautiful Ds but I'm just hiding myself away from them.

It's just not fair!!!!

Poor you That is extremely bad luck. I don't really know what else to say.

Don't hide from the DCs though -- why are you feeling like you want to do that?

KEAWYED · 11/01/2010 10:22

I just want to be left alone and the eldest whos 6 keeps asking why I'm sad.

We normally have a happy home life but I'm struggling to be cheery for them.

It's not depression its just sadness

Well that is understandable, entirely. What are you telling them about why you are sad?

I don't think tbh that there is any harm admitting that Mummy is a bit sad -- much better than pretending otherwise, when they can clearly see that you are pretending. That will just make them edgy and worried. (I speak from experience, my mum used to "hide" her feelings all the time and it made me feel awful, terrible atmosphere around the house which I still recall with dismay)

Why not just say you are just feeling a bit sad, and have a cuddle to let them know it's not the end of the world or anything? Then maybe they will be reassured and settle to play without you having to be too involved, then you can have a mope in peace?

I have told them I'm tired. DS1 whos 6 is a worrier.

I told him that daddy needs to find new work and money will be a bit tighter than normal.

I've just had a shower and I'm going to do my hair and put a bit of slap on then take the youngest 2 up to Grandmas for a play and lots of tea and biscuits.

Sorry is I sounded self pitying but Thank-you it's made it easier just having someone hear me moan. x

No you don't sound self-pitying, it must be a real blow. Good on you for getting out of the house.
