Should I do it or not???

Just been chatting with a Team Leader from Mini IQ (who sell childrens' books, toys and games) with regards to becoming an associate and doing parties myself. It would give me something as an interest for myself (now dd2 is in pre-school two and a half days a week and dd1 full time at school), bring in a bit of extra cash and will get me out of the house for a bit of a social life.

The downside is I'm worried that party bookings may be hard to come by (amount I earn will obviously be dependant on party bookings), my maths is rather iffy but I will learn in time I guess, I have to buy a kit up front for £99.

Not sure whether or not to go for it.

oh sparkler, i am contemplating a similar ything!

can't decide. start up kit for mine is £95 and worried i won't make enough money

also have to sell £50 worth of stuff a month... but get 30% off.

have you asked whether you can give up if you don't get on with it?

hunkermunker · 27/06/2005 21:42

Ask around first - see if you can get definite bookings for some parties. Don't spend £99 on a kit then find out you've got no parties.

or theres another thread on here for trulymadlybaby.com - which is also party plan baby stuff. But one of the options is just to get some catalogues and get orders so no up front money - and see how it goes - then upgrade and have parties and buy the kit??

starlover · 27/06/2005 21:43

hunkermunker would you like to come to my party . there will be lettuce and felafels

SPARKLER1 · 27/06/2005 21:44

I haven't read all the small print yet but as far as I know there are no ties. I have text a few friends tonight to ask if they would book parties with me - hopefully I will have a positive outcome.

it's a bit scary isn't it sparkler.

also, chasing people up on the phone to get them to book parties and stuff...

SPARKLER1 · 27/06/2005 21:48

I just wonder if it's going to be worth all the hassle. I know it'll be fun - but I expect there will be moments when it will be a PITA. I don't need to work for financial reasons but the bit of extra cash would certainly come in handy.

yeah... it's just taking the first big leap isn't it... kind of worrying!

SPARKLER1 · 27/06/2005 22:04

yep - which plan are you thinking of doing?

Good morning ladies. Thank you very much for coming today to the Mini IQ party and thank you to for having us here too.
Had anyone been to a Mini IQ party before?
Well briefly we sell books, toys and games for 0-12 years. There are some lovely things here to choose from. You each have a catalogue and I shall go through some of the products with you now. Feel free to ask any questions.
