Is anyone a member? I'm considering joining, but reluctant to fork out the £115(!) they seem to require! Do they really give you a hand/good leads towards getting work? I'd want to recoup that cost asap if I decided to join! Would like to hear your experiences. Thx.

I was a member but it lapsed while on maternity leave but I'm about to join again. I appreciated knowing there were others out there and learning from their experiences, and found their support networks useful and helpful in counter-acting the isolation of working from home. I never sought work from it but I know friends who did and who received quite a steady stream of work from their 'Associates Available' threads. And it looks good on your CV.

On the downside, they come across as quite old-fashioned, particularly the membership points structure.

Hi I read this thread with interest as have also been interested in joining SFEP but the price seems fairly steep! Did any of you join? and did you have any success?
Thanks iarose

Hi, I've been a member for the last year and although I found the 'brushing up your grammar' course useful I've never had anything from the Associates Available email and am considering not renewing my membership. I'd agree with the old-fashioned image thing.
