Just got a new job - now got an interview for another job

I got an offer of a new job yesterday, its a job I am probably very over qualified for with limited development opportunities, but it is a stable job and very similar to what I am doing at the moment and I have lots of experience in it.

I got an invite to an interview today, its a for a job that is more in line with my qualifications, although my experience is probably lacking somewhat. I suspect I will not be successful because while I meet all the essential criteria I have few of the desirable criteria and its an area I have not worked in before etc. However you never know! The money is significantly better than the money for my new job.

What are the ethics in a situation like this? Should I not attend this interview because I have (verbally) accpeted my new job or should I go and see what happens?? Part of me feels I should go for the experience, but part of me feels it is so unlikely I would be successful that its a waste of their time really.

ARGH!

I'd go for the experience...

Go! A new job is an important and long-term decision, and you shouldn't write off what might be a really good option just because you've just verbally accepted another one. Go to the interview, see what happens, if you don't get the job it will be good experience as you say. If you do, you can then make the ethical decision about what to do.

best of luck
