CV question

I am trying to do a cv and am stuck.

Where I list g.c.s.e's do I only put those that I gained a C or above in or all of them ??

Depends on how many other qualifications you've got really. I tend to just write "x GCSEs at grades A-C including English and maths" . If you have nothing higher, then I'd list all of them. If you have A levels or equivalent, A-C only.

Also please write GCSEs like that

Don't have any higher qualifications so I will list all of them.

Will probably be the shortest cv in history.

what's the job? or is it just a speculative CV?

Actually if you did more than 7 GCSEs, then I would usually omit a couple of the lower scoring ones - to get your average up.

It is for a job in a travel call centre.

I take it i have to tell the truth about my exam results ??

F for maths looks really bad in print.

i fully admit i lied about most of my exam results.

they werent especially bad but i still upped them a tiny bit.

I have been known to massage an exam up a grade, but never the important ones (i.e. maths and english, and anything else that might be particularly relevant to the job) but I'm like that and did well in maths and english anyway.

dh used to put all his up by a grade or two.

up to you - they can check by the way but are highly unlikely to for someone much past school leaver age I would have thought.

Tbh I can't believe that anyone would ever check... Why not just pur XXX GCSEs grades A-C then if they're that fussed they can grill you at interview?

SP, A levels A-C only? You mean if you have worse than that you don't mention the grade, or don't mention the A level?

And can anyone tell what an old O-grade O level would = at GCSE...??? (Need it to be C or above!)

It wouldn't be a C. But some people still have more respect for O levels than GCSEs. [ducks!]

swithering sounds like a great word, is it a Lancashire word?

I take it to mean dithering in a switchbacky kind of way ??? (Must look it up.)

(And of course O-levels were harder. Our piano teacher swears his DD's A level music paper included questions from his O level one.)

you could always just list the gcse's you took without putting a grade

an F is a fail isn't it? or do they grade to F now (showing my age) so personally I wouldn't put it on .. especially if maths is important to job

nutty, does the job need maths? If not then I agree with SP, just list subjects and range of grades.

If maths is important then it's a bit trickier.

The job is in a call centre booking holidays.

My maths really isn't as bad as the grade I got, i just hated maths and didn't do my coursework so couldn't get anything above that really anyway.

nutty, ill be honest- they will not check your gcse results, you could say you have a degree in pure maths and they wouldnt check!
